Help! Alot of braces questions!?!

Question: Help! Alot of braces questions!?
Hi! I'm getting braces on Tuesday so I need help fast! I have dirty blonde hair very fair skin and blue eyes? What color would look best? Also, I already know they are very painful so how can I help the pain the few days after and how long do they hurt for? Thanks so much! (:

Hey! Ok, so I know how you feel. Trust me, I'm now a sophomore in high school and I've been an orthodontic patient since 2nd grade. I had braces but I'm done now with such pretty teeth! As for the braces color, I always got bright colors like bright purple, bright pink, bright blue, lime green. lol, For you, I'd go with light blue the first time because they'd match your eyes. However, your orthodontist can change your color every appointment. I'd stay away from colors like: yellow (makes teeth look yellow), navy blue, black, dark colors in general make your teeth look dirty. They aren't really painful (I didn't find them to be anyway..and trust me, my teeth were all over the place!) At the most, they're just really really tight and can be uncomfortable and may seem tough to eat with the first day. Eat soft foods (one of my favorites is that home-made mac & cheese they sell at the grocery store! So yummy, lol) And if you find you're in a lot of pain, take a Tylenol or Ibuprofen for a pain reliever. If I have any advice for you as an orthodontic patient it's...LISTEN TO YOUR ORTHODONTIST. Wear the appliances they tell you to. The process will move much faster. And stay away from sticky/chewy/hard foods.

I'd recommend blue to match your eyes! But the bands will be changed every month or so, so you won't be committed to one color for life. Some orthodontists will let you get multicolored braces (at one point I got rainbow, just because).
Yes, braces are unfortunately very painful, especially when you first get them. You should get jello or pudding to eat for the first few days afterward, and if your teeth aren't too sensitive to cold, get some ice cream without chunks of chocolate or other hard substances in it. If you get very hungry, try smoothies as well, and by the second or third day you might be able to eat a sandwich (I mean, two pieces of bread with peanut butter and jelly cut up small)
Thankfully, the pain doesn't last for more than a week. I'd also suggest you get some pain medication or perhaps something for headaches! It all depends on how sensitive you are to the pain~

Experience

Any color looks good, really. It doesn't matter what color your hair and skin is. Just get your favorite color. Just whatever you do, NEVER get yellow! I made that mistake once and it just makes your teeth look like they're yellow around your braces.

The pain will last about 7 days, assuming you are getting top and bottom braces at the same time. The pain is less if you only get one set of braces. What you can do for the pain is eat soft foods. Liquidy foods like soup, applesauce, and yogurt will be your best friends during that first week. To help ease the pain you can take Advil or Ibuprofen or Tylenol. My orthodontist always recommended Advil, though. Hope this helps. I know how you feel.

I've been through many rounds of orthodontic treatment, including two separate sets of braces at different times, headgear, rubber bands, and the like.

I got black or a dark color everytime cz they look the best. Dont get a light color like yellow. They will give you wax to put on your braces. The most they hurt is for 3 days. It just depends how messed up your teeth are. ALSO, wear your rubberbands even if they hurt. Youll get them off quicker.

I usually get silver or clear, it's doesn't attract as much.
