Answers:

You can often go to the hospital for dental emergencies, actually. I'm not sure how much will be covered by your insurance or not, though, but every emergency room has a dentist.

There are also a lot of low cost dental clinics, and pulling a tooth is a very easy thing to do. I'd google "low cost dentist" and "free dentist" and "low income dental clinic". They might charge you, but not much.

Depending on the dental procedure, you'll look to save tons on dental work. I used Careington (1dental.com), but Safeguard seems a bit better on many counts. I chose Careington because you could use it immediately, whereas you'd have to wait till the beginning of the next month for Safeguard.

Honestly, these could be better or you than your insurance. I had a very bad tooth as well, and just got it out, and could only afford it after getting Careington (about $7 a month).
