Well, when I got my wisdom teeth out, my cheeks were so incredibly swollen and I bled a lot. On the first night, I woke up and my shirt was covered in blood.

I was told that I was allowed to suck out a straw and I had to stay away from solid foods. I don't think you want the solid food to get stuck in the wound, because then you'd have to go back and redo the entire surgery again just to get the food out. After you eat you should make sure to rinse your mouth out with warm salt water, as it will help clean your wounds so it won't get infected. Depending on how deep the dentist has to dig to get the wisdom teeth out, one side of your jaw may hurt/feel heavier. But it's normal, so do not worry.

Try to refrain from talking after you get them taken out, just for a few hours anyways. You don't want the stitches to come out! Good luck with your wisdom teeth operation :D

Got mine out a few years ago, the day of the surgery depending you may not be allowed to eat or drink prior to the surgery, if they sedate you which they did for me expect to be tired after the surgery, I wanted to walk and the nurses wouldn't let me, probably a good thing I thought I was going to fall getting up out of the chair, the first night will suck probably, I woke up in the middle of the night with blood on my shirt and couldn't find my painkillers, someone put them up because I didn't eat all day. You'll only be allowed to eat soft foods regular ice cream, no chunks of anything, milkshakes, mashed potatoes, I had white castle as well a few days after. After everytime you eat or at least 2 times a day you'll have to rinse with warm salt water, keeps the area clean, prevents infection and helps healing. You'll probably be in some pain so expect that, but be patient and before you know it you won't even know you got your teeth out. You may not be able to work for a bit either if you do, I took a week off after the surgery, also you won't be able to drive after you get them out, at least I couldn't because of the sedation. I'm sure the dentist will go over it with you before the surgery, hopefully I didn't miss anything. Good luck with the surgery on tuesday.
