To be honest, it hurts for the first week when you get them on. After that you get used to them, and forget you even have them!! Putting them on does not hurt one bit. 30-60 minutes later you will start feeling the pressure. Just take some pain medications, and put the wax they give you on so your cheeks dont get too cut up. Like i said it is not a pain to wear at all.. just getting used to them. After each tightening you will feel some pain, it will go away after a day or two. I found it gets less painful everytime you go their! :) I hope i answered your questions!! And good luck with your braces!!

Hello..First, remember that far to many people want you to think their special or want you to feel sorry for them, so they play the ,"OH it hurt so bad" game. The truth is, you may feel a small bit of discomfort ,but nothing a reasonable person would call PAIN. You will do just fine. I wish you well.

Just remember: they aren't trying to kill you.
I had braces in 1978 and when they would tighten them I felt like all my teeth were going to fall out. It was like torture for a few days. And them my teeth would get used to it.
Whatever pain you endure, you will have beautiful teeth in the end.
