Tooth Discoloration. Help!?!

Question: Tooth Discoloration. Help!?
After brushing and flossing my teeth, I've just notice that half of my lower second molar has a grey tint. I'm super worried cause I know this may mean that the pulp inside is dying. I'm not experiencing any pain whatsoever. I'm panicking right now because i'm afraid that I might have to get a root canal! I'm only 14! I do not recall bumping it or hitting, but I do wear retainer because I use have braces. Could it be something else??

Answers:

It could be just staining, natural darkening or the start of a cavity. If your pulp (nerve) was effected in any way I can assure you you'd know about it. Best get it checked out by your dental surgeon, he can take an x-ray to make sure there is nothing untoward happening. Don't worry though, if you're not having any pain or sensitivity it won't be anything drastic.
