Does whitening toothpaste get rid of the stains on your teeth or does it cover i!

Question: Does whitening toothpaste get rid of the stains on your teeth or does it cover it with a new coat of paint?
Answers:

Practically, teeth whitening toothpaste cannot bleach or whiten your teeth but it is very effective for removing mild surface stains on the teeth or help maintain the whiteness of the teeth after a dental cleaning procedure.

After a few weeks of the cleaning, stains begin to appear on the teeth and plaque may begin to collect. At such times, the abrasive materials of the toothpaste can provide significant cleansing action. A teeth whitening toothpaste can also be very efficient in removing newly formed stains on teeth such as those caused by coffee, smoking or other such substances.
THERE ARE TWO WAYS OF WHITENING

1}The first type is abrasion, where mild abrasives are used to remove the debris on the teeth to expose the cleaner, whiter surface underneath.

2}The second type is bleaching, where peroxides are added in the toothpastes to help improved (whitened) the internal color of the teeth by bringing about a chemical change.
For toothpaste that contains peroxides, some claim to have a dual action of abrasion as well as bleaching. However, the truth is many such toothpastes have very low concentration of hydrogen peroxide to really have any whitening effect on a stained tooth.

In general, most teeth whitening toothpastes work purely through the abrasion process.

These teeth whitening toothpaste has products such as aluminum oxide, hydrated silica, calcium carbonate or dicalcium phosphate dihydrate. These are rough molecules which can cause a scraping kind of action on the teeth when brushed onto them. This removes all the debris on the teeth and cleanses the surface. This is what teeth whitening toothpaste actually does – it abrades the surface of the teeth so that a whiter surface is exposed.
