Do clear retainers break easily?!

Question: Do clear retainers break easily?
I was given this clear Essix retainer when I got my braces removed two days ago, and the retainer's a bit tough to take off. It doesn't take very long to remove it, but I guess I'm just worried that I'll break it somehow. I was just wondering if a person can damage their retainer just in the act of removing them.

(Also, if you're just going to tell me I'm crazy or worrying too much, don't even bother. My parents spent a lot of money on my braces, and retainers aren't cheap either. That's why I care so much.)

Thank you. :)

I understand - for the first few weeks I treated mine like it was made of gold or something!

The good news is that they're made of tough stuff and so long as you don't expose them to a lot of heat, they change shape if you do, and clean them twice a day, you'll be fine.

Don't worry if a few holes start to appear, it's normal wear and tear, espiecially if you're a tooth grinder in your sleep, like me!

Good luck, hope you're happy with your new smile :)

no, they're not easy to brake, they are pretty tough and definitely wont break just by you trying to take them out :)
