ok so here is the problem.....i just got the metal spacer today and it hurts like heck!!!!!!!! soooooooo since i got it i have been playing with it with my tongue and now it feels like it's loose.......i don't have the next appointment until like 2 weeks from now and i don't know what to do!!!!!!!!
Question:
will it fall out while my eating or something?????????

Answers:

Don't stress. The spacers hurt so bad because, well they are making space! They push your teeth a little farther apart. : ) It will be sore for a few days and don't worry about it falling out. they are put in very tight. Just don't play with them anymore if you are worried. If they fall out, tell your parents or call the ortho and let them know.

Braces for 3 yrs.

I my had a permanent retainer put in my mouth during my early years with braces and they were bonded with bands, I wiggled them around a little too much and I could pop it out of place with my tongue at times. They will tighten it when you go to your next ortho app. but in the meantime obviously dont chew gum or eat anything you know your not supposed to. Honestly its going to hurt really really bad and they is nothing you can really do about it unless use maybe some wax in certain spots if they gave you it. I never had a metal spacer but my braces bugged the heck out of me for 3 years. Also it wont fall out if your eating. If it does then how its possible i dont know, but honestly i wouldnt worry about that. And if it bothers you that much just chew slower and more carefully. But honestly when i first got my braces i wasnt eating that much anyway the first 2-3 days. If your really worried you probably could shedual and emergency appt. to your ortho, but all they will do it tighten it back up and it probably wont take 10 mins.

i had the same thing a year ago the next day it fell out and on my next appointment i brought it in and they put it back in for me they said it was no big deal:)

btw we have the same name and spelling*

Spacers are put in VERY tight. That's whybit hurts so much. Don't worry about it until your next appointment.
