Braces tomorrow!!!!! help please!!!!?!

Question: Braces tomorrow!!!!! help please!!!!?
Im 14 years old and im getting braces tomorrow morning!! Thing is my mom wants me to get the clear braces ( ceramic i believe ) i wouldnt mind but i have kind of heard that they stain and u shouldnt eat tomato with them which is why i dont really want them. I also wouldnt mind getting the metal ones but of i did get them i really have no idea what colors to get. What color combinations should i get that look cute?? Metal or ceramic?? if u choose veramic can u still give me a color combination plz????

Answers:

Get the metal ones! I got mine in January. You can change the colors with every tightening. The first time I went in, I got gold and silver. The gold makes it look like you have plack, so stay away from gold! Yellow doesn't though, it's vibrant and people will notice! Silver isn't noticeable at all, so if you want people looking get vibrant colors! Right now I have orange and pink. I'm a guy. It's fun. Haha. Have fun and take care of your braces! If you have gaps, avoid chewing in that area, I've popped on my wires twice now:(

Personal experience!

I actually have ceramic braces (SCREW YOU, LADY WHO SAID THEY WERE UGLY) and they look a lot better than metal. It just looks like you have a retainer since you only see the wire.

Now, about the staining:

You have nothing to worry about as long as you drink through a straw and brush your teeth with a whitening toothpaste twice a day. Also, my dentist put more opaque bands (rather than plain clear) that don't stain as easily. Oh, and I live in an Italian family and we eat tomato sauce regularly. I have had my braces since August and no drastic staining has happened to me. The bands on ceramic braces WILL yellow over time. It's not like you drink a coffee and then "BAM!" they're stained. But, the yellowing isn't dramatic or noticeable- but I stare at my teeth enough to notice them.

Good luck! :)

i have never had the clear ones so i dont know about that.
i have had the metal ones in the past. they aren't THAT bad. obviously you need time to get used to them and they will hurt at first, but after a while you wont notice them.
and the cool thing about that is you can change the colors every visit, so you dont need to commit to on e color combination

metal.
ceramic look ugly with the time.. and weird

Well, my favorite colors were pink and purple :)

hope I helped!
