My Jaw is cracking again?!
Question: My Jaw is cracking again?
Back in 5th and 6th grade my jaw would randomly lock up and i couldn't open it for points of up to half an hour at a time...and whenever i ate it would pop and crack...
well i went to the doctor and they gave me a sleep right jaw corrector and it helped for about a year or two and i was eating today and my jaw started cracking again...
what could this be? i mean my orthodontist thinks i lock up and tighten by jaw when i sleep but im not sure and it really hurts! do any of you know what it could be?
P.S. im in 9th grade now

sounds like a TMJ disorder. generally the first thing they do is the nighttime splint, which you already have. also putting an ice pack (wrapped in a towel placed on your face, near your jaw where it hurts) and/or taking some Tylenol or Advil may help.
But, if it continues to bother you, you should go back to your dentist. he/she may want to try some exercises, or have you take an anti-inflammatory.
