How can I push my gums back?!

Question: How can I push my gums back?
My 12 year molars (finally) grew in. The gums are still partially over the teeth. All the teeth have been grown in for over 5 months the gums are still on them. I can't get my braces off until the gums resting on the teeth get pushed back so they can add brackets. I've had braces for 5 years and I'm in the home stretch... I really want them off but I can't get the gums to go back.. I've tried just pushing it with a toothbrush like my orthodontist recommended but it's not working... PLEASE help me.

You might need a crown lengthening procedure done. It'd done all the time for people before they get braces to expose the tooth surface so the brackets can be placed

I think 5 years with braces on is not normal. I think your dentist is not giving you a good advise! better change your dentist. It's impossible to push back the gums with a toothbrush (that's really weird!) unless you'll wait for it to settle or have it removed!

There is nothing you can do about it.
Your dentist needs to either cauterize it so that the gums regress down or will have to remove it surgically which is avery very minor procedure.
