Bad smell during fill-in?!

Question: Bad smell during fill-in?
Every time I get a fill-in for my tooth, a disgusting smell coming out during the drilling. It smells like burnt cheese. I always choke on it.
What is this smell? I think it comes from the orajel.
I am going to get a fill-in today and I'm not looking forward to that smell.

If your dentist doesn't use water when they use the handpiece, it is the smell of enamel and/or dentine. Or if the cavity is large, the smell could be from the bacteria that caused the decay. Most likely my first reason.

Its the smell of enamel. Cant avoid it.
