Infected Wisdom Tooth?!

Question: Infected Wisdom Tooth?
I think my wisdom tooth is infected. Yesterday I had a bloody taste in the back of my throat and my widsom tooth (which is half way in) was hurting. This morning I woke up to a stuffy nose and body aches, as well as coughing up a bit of blood. I'm in college and I can't go home to see a dentist for another few days. What can I do in the meantime?

Its probably not infected just finding a path to erupt.
It doesnt bleed in usual cases. Maybe you have a gum tear.
Try an analgesic that you have taken before and warm saline (table salt in water) rinses thrice daily.
It the problem persists I am afraid you will have to go see a doctor.

Warm salt water rinses and keeping the area well irrigated and clean. You should see a dentist close to your campus for an exam and panoramic xray. Then you can have a proper diagnosis. Sometimes you have to have the wisdom tooth removed immediately but sometimes the discomfort is transient and you can schedule to have your wisdom teeth extracted back home during a break. I wouldn't leave them in as they can cause problems in the future and I would do them while your parents are paying.
