Can braces fix teeth if they are crooked and widespread?!

Question: Can braces fix teeth if they are crooked and widespread?

These are my teeth, do you think that braces will fix them so they look straight and if so, how long do you think I will have to wear braces for? Thanks

Answers:

Hello
your teeth do not look as bad as mine were. I had to wear a brace for 2 years and head gear at night. My teeth were really goofy at the front and I had huge gaps and wonky teeth much worse than your teeth. My top teeth are now perfect and my bottom 90% perfect. I would think your teeth could be sorted in maybe 1-2 years and the results would be very good indeed. You will have to go and see a specialist who deals only in this kind of thing , like I had to.

Hope that helps

myself as I had to wear a brace for 2 years and had several teeth removed and crowns and fillings etc

You should get things assessed by an orthodontist. This would not commit you to any treatment. It's just an assessment.

The prob I see with your teeth is that you have spacing ie size of teeth do not match size of jaw.The spaces can be closed ,which is not difficult. The question to ask is "will the gaps reopen". the orthodontist will be able to assess it , it depends on your age and a number of other factors

Your teeth aren't even that bad! and yes braces can fix both of those problems and more. Maybe 2-4 years of braces, depends the condition of your teeth.

Had braces before.
