Question: Do braces, and teeth extraction, impressions/moulds etc. hurt?
Just one thing i have a phobia of dentists! I practically went into hyperventilation when they said id have to have teeth taken out.;o;
and NEEDLES! if that's not bad enough they don't even do colours where i go and ive said to my friends before i would have to have black braces and they were like ewww, thats ugly or ewww emo much! my teeth are ugly as it is sooo. :O PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANSWER :D x x x x

Ok calm down, sweetie! I had 4 teeth taken out in the same day, and it didn't hurt. They just sat me down in the chair, numbed my mouth, and popped the teeth out really easy. For me, the impressions of the teeth was the worst part of my whole experience. When they took the mold of my lower teeth, I was fine, but when they did the top I started gagging. I don't get colors on my teeth, I just get gray. The braces don't hurt when they put them on, it's just a lot of pressure on your teeth. When you get your teeth taken out, you'll want to have advil, chap stick, and some sort of towel with you. When they took my teeth out, my whole mouth was numb and I was drooling everywhere. Your lips might get dry, so the chap stick is good for that. Good luck! and your teeth will look beautiful when you're finished!

I had to have a tooth pulled due to it being infected (apparently it was really bad and they only discovered it because I was in for a check-up, and I wasn't even told I had to have it pulled). All they did for me is numb my mouth using a type of gas in a mask, and then I kinda fell asleep/dozed off a little and didn't even know what was happening until after. Even then, my mouth didn't really hurt.
As for impressions, those are the worst, but even those aren't bad. All they do is spray some kind of foam into a semi-circle shaped thing and press it into the top and bottom parts of your mouth so they get moulds of your upper and lower teeth. You'll have the urge to swallow and you may feel a gag reflex coming on, but its only because they stick the mould far back in your mouth. Honestly, its not bad at all.
Braces are fine, too. Sure, the spacers are annoying and the first week of your braces are extremely annoying, but after that you forget you have them. It sucks you can only have black (I always get turquoise or purple), but if you take care of your teeth and braces and do everything you're supposed to, they'll be off in no time. :-) You're 'ugly' teeth will look amazing!!
