What could this tooth pain possibly be from?!

Question: What could this tooth pain possibly be from?
Four months ago I got fillings in all four of my top incisors due to cavities in between my teeth. At the time making the appointment, I had absolutely no pain. My concern was purely cosmetic and to prevent my teeth from rotting out in the future.

Shortly after getting my fillings, I started to experience a dull pain that usually only bothered me every once in awhile. I had severe pain from anything room temperature or cold that touched my teeth, but figured that was normal. After a couple of months went by, those four teeth began to ache almost constantly, but was eased after taking some ibuprofen. I figured maybe the filling was still settling, or whatever. Now, for the past week, the pain I have is excruciating. It's hurting so bad that my jaw is aching and I feel like I have an earache because of the radiating pain. Ibuprofen no longer helps with the pain, nor does Vicodin. On top of that, three days ago I was flossing one of the teeth that were filled, and a piece of the fillings popped out of my mouth. I was not flossing hard at all, and even used the Glide floss that's anti-shred.

Now, the filling that is partially gone is NOT the tooth that is hurting. It's the other three teeth that were filled. Like I said, when I went to this dentist, I had no pain. Now that they've been filled, it's probably THE worst pain I've ever felt in my life.

I do not want to go back to that dentist, as I've never had this kind of problem before. I've made an appointment with a different one and have gone to the ER for pain meds and antibiotics just in case any of them were infected. The ER doctor said they weren't, but gave them to me anyway.

Anybody have any ideas on what could be causing this pain and the easy removal of one of my fillings from flossing? Did the dentist possibly fill my teeth incorrectly or mess up somehow? Is this something that would constitute a root canal? Any ideas or guesses would be greatly appreciated. I just can't understand how you go into a dentist's office with no pain, and four months later be in more pain than you've ever been in your life.

Hi
It could be another tooth causing the pain, it refers pain to all over the mouth when you have toothache.
Sometimes if a dentist does not use a lining under the filling, that annoys the nerve in the tooth and can lead to the tooth dying, I suggest if you have given the teeth a fair chance to settle down and they haven't, go somewhere else and get the new dentist to get a copy of your records so that they can assess what materials were used.
Good luck

What I will suggest you is that change your dentist place probably that person doesn't do right

Maybe the metal is coming loose. The same thing happened to me and I went in, they numbed me and they took the original piece of metal. The then dug under my tooth and took some of the nerve out and the assistnt held it while the dentist put a bigger piece of metal on it and he then put some antibiotics under the tooth and put the tooth back down. I felt no pain and I was 10 at the time. Call your new dentist or just talk to him. He will definetley help you!
I hope this works out for you and you feel no more pain,
Kaydencee (:
