Why are my teeth more sensitive since I had braces put on?!

Question: Why are my teeth more sensitive since I had braces put on?
Before I had braces, I could bite into ice cream without a problem and my friends/family found it so weird that it didn't bother my teeth. I've had braces for a year, and I can hardly eat ice cream now without my teeth hurting from the cold.

Is this normal?
Will they lose the sensitivity when my braces come off?

Hi
It is painful the teeth are being moved into a new position, you have to use pain Relief and try some sensodyne tooth paste, ask the orthodontist for advice for home treatment they will have some advice on how to get by. Think how great you are going to look at the end.
