taking clonazepam for grinding teeth?!


Question: Taking clonazepam for grinding teeth?
my dr. put me on a med called clonazepam to see if that will stop me from teeth grinding in my sleep. I can't find any thing to back this up. Can anyone one give me a in put on this?

there is medical literature that shows that anti-anxiety medicine (like Clonazepam) can help with grinding in some patients. however, over time it can help less and less, meaning that it really is a temporary solution.

there are other treatments you can try if you decided that the Clonazepam isn't right for you/doesn't work...nighttime mouth guard, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medicine, etc - just talk to your dentist if you want to try something else.
