Question: Why does Colgate toothpaste burn my mouth? Is there a toothpaste that doesn't burn?

I tried some Colgate toothpaste tonight- and within 20 minutes, felt like the inside of my lower lip was burned. Toothpaste often has this effect one me- an I know other people find toothpaste burns them as well. Im curious- WHY does toothpaste burn, and is there a good toothpaste that doesn't burn? Thanks

Most toothpaste uses a mint which causes a burn, you might try another type that is non burning or another brand like Tom's Of Maine's.

Hmm, I'm not really sure why your toothpaste is causing the inside of your mouth to burn...the same thing happened to my dad with Colgate, but he never found out why...Maybe ask your dentist on your next visit?

Anyway, i suggest you try Pro-enamel. It's a pretty good toothpaste, especially if your teeth and gums are sensitive. Plus, it protects your enamel.

But if that doesn't seem to work, try a children's tooth paste. May sound crazy, but they are more mild :)
