Coming off of azathioprine?!

Question: Coming off of azathioprine?
I have ulcerative colitis and as I don't think it works, I don't think I should be on it. What are the possible side effects?

Azathioprine could cause side effects such as nausea, fatigue and leave your body more susceptible to infections. If you're looking for other options, have you considered alternative medicine to help relieve your Ulcerative Colitis pain? My cousin was diagnosed with UC several months ago and the prescription meds she was on made her condition worse. She then tried AloeElite and now almost symptom free...I attached their website and hopefully you can find the information you need there. Good luck!

Side effects consist of nausea, loss of appetite, lower blood cell count which causes you to have a weaker immune system. But, with having UC you are going to have a weak immune system as it is, I suggest you ask your doctor about Lialda or maybe some enemas. You do not want to completley stop taking meds and being prone to a bad flare and being put on steroids or remicade. Also, you could possibly try herbal remedies, but you should still take some form of medication.
There is probably going to be someone leaving you a comment about aloeelite, in which what they dont tell you that it is not for everyone, and some people do ecperiance side effects from it, and actually become worse from it. But, I suppose some people believe its beneficial. I have done quite a bit of.research on the product and I do not promote it whatsoever. Its very expensive too.
Nonetheless, try Lialda! It works for me and I highly recomenned it. :)
