How long will it take for my white tongue and bad breath to go..?!

Question: How long will it take for my white tongue and bad breath to go..?
I've had this for about 3 years now, and I didn't use to brush my tongue and now this is the consequence! I bought an orabrush like 8 days ago, and have been using it to brush my tongue. And I brush my teeth well.. But the thing is, I have braces, so I think that that's contributing aswell! But the bad breath is coming from the back of my throat.. Do you have any home remedies that could help?

Thanks!

Hi, I've sufffered with this problem for years. I wish I knew you I would've told you not to waste your money on that orabrush. And those reports like the one suggested above are sometimes basic household items that doesn't help people with severe cases.

What has helped many people is probiotics (pick up a bottle from most pharmacies), vitamin C has helped a lot of people within days (800-1000 mgs a day), also A, B and D vitamins, antiacids like prilosec, prevacid, zantac. There's a supplement called HCL (drawing a blank of full name) that people who need more acid take to help digest there food. This has helped A LOT of people and have cleared their bad breat issues w/in days. ( This is essentially the opposite of acid reflux I think, where you develop an over production of acid due to foods you eat, etc.)

You could have tonsil stones -- google and look in to some of the techniques used to clean them if you think you have them or have a history of having them. Many people on curezone.com -- bad breath section have posted various ways of cleaning them.

I've met a few people who say they've been helped by things like gargling with Grape Seed Extract, or Hydrogen Peroxide, oxygen water, therabreath products, things like that.

Also look into digestive enzymes. There are several different ones - google. You could have a problem with digesting meats, foods high in protein, etc.

Have you been tested for H. Pylori? This is what I had but none of the antibiotics have helped me, despite being put on several different ones. Through careful diet I was able to get rid of it but still have bad breath unfortunately. The antibiotics have helped many people though. Read around and do some research. You can be cured of this problem but it might take a bit of research. Write down all your symptoms. Does your bad breath worsen with certain types of food, medications. Could you be lactose intolerant (people who can't eat dairy).

Good luck. Your definitely not alone in this awful dilimma.

If what you have is "Thrush". Here is the remedy I found:

Mix
1/2 Teaspoon of cherry flavor Milk of Magnesia and
1/2 Teaspoon of Benedryl together.
Gargle 4 times a day. Don't swallow the mixture.
In addition : take pro-biotic one capsule a day
It should heal in 2-3 days

Good luck. Please let me know if it works.
