braces or can i pass?!

I have a decent smile, right now, but my incisors are somewhat narrowed. the front teeth though are at the correct places. This goes from the incisors back, where my teeth are narrow. I have a small over bite where I can just barley squeeze a straw through it. I was wondering if a palate expander could give me more room and pull the front teeth back just a little bit to close off the small over bite. because they would make the palate stretch out so i thought it would have to shrink the front to close off the small opening. I had braces once but the teeth moved back because I never expanded it before.
