My dentist 'forgot' to fill my filling!!?!

Question: My dentist 'forgot' to fill my filling!!?
Recently i went to the dentist & i had two fillings. He forgot to fill up one of them however and i didn't discover this until later...after i'd eaten and everything. It really hurt & a shooting pain ripped through my gum.
I found this huge gaping hole in my tooth a few hours later- it was disgusting.
Anyways..luckily i managed to get back in later that day where he went ahead and filled it up again.
But later that day it all my mouth really hurt & there was a dull ache around the teeth that were filled. They still don't feel 100% ok. My mouth just feels achy ever since.
I flossed yesterday & one of those teeth that were filled bleed like crazy. Now i'm afraid to do it again.
Is this normal to bleed after a filling or is something wrong?
Also my dentist didn't exaclty apologize for it either...just stating that 'it wasn't filled'.
Now i feel like a bear with a sore head towards him & am mad.
What should i do?

Answers:

make another appt. and talk to your dentist about it. Pain associated with dentists is normal, but what happened is not ok and you should let him know. If he is understanding and apologizes for his mistake and you think you can get past it, then continue seeing him. If not, then by all means start seeing another dentist.

It is a malpractice claim, but I wouldn't bother doing it. The world is full of too many of those and an amazing amount of dentists make these little mistake. Doctors are human too and though it happens rarely, they do make mistakes.

First, did he charge you for filling that second tooth?!! If so, you need to go after him for that.

Secondly, due to incompetence and failure to apologize, it's time to change dentists! Have the work done at another practice.

When a dentist starts getting forgetful like that it's time to retire.

Find a different dentist.

sue him for malpractice!
