Questions about braces? Please answer?!?!

1. they take this sticky substance and put it in on a plastic mold, which they place on your teeth for a minute or so. the substance might drip in your mouth, which might make you gag (i gagged a bit but just try not to swallow), but that helps determine how big your jaw is and your teeth are so they can determine the correct measurements. i make it sound kinda scary but it's really not. once you actually go through the process you'll realize how simple it is.
2. depending on where you're getting the braces/what type (invisalign, metal braces, only on your top row, only on your bottom row, etc.), but it shouldn't take longer than 45 min- an hour.
3. it doesn't hurt at all! i'd say its around a 4 'cause i was scared silly about getting braces, but overall it's fine :) it's the aftermath that really hurts- your teeth will feel sore for a couple of days and you won't be able to eat anything hard. but after a week or so you'll be able to eat anything :)

make sure you avoid candy, gum, etc. so they won't get stuck to your braces.

I'm 14 and I have braces. I've had mine for like 6 months. yeh they do put a plastic thing in your mouth but the most that happens is you slobber loads. you can't avoid it and its to keep your mouth open wide enough for your dentist to fixed your braces on but if it is hurting or you feel like your going to be sick tell your dentist straight away!! this process takes about 20-40 minutes. they should have already measured your mouth so don't worry about that. On a scale, its really weird to get used to so 6 but it does hurt for the first week so about 8 but once you get used to them its fine.

Don't worry about eating sweets, drinking fizzy drinks and eating chewing gum cause i eat and drink all of them. If your gonna eat chewing gum make sure its Extra, Orbit or Airwaves.

Don't Worry about having braces

The plastic thing might bother you a bit but not so much, mine was so they could make a mold of my teeth.
The process usually only lasts an hour, but it depends on how much work they have to do on your teeth.
No they don't measure your mouth
On a scale of 1-10 mine would be a 6 but it depends on how sensitive your teeth are.
Its deff worth it though!

heya! when your getting the braces on it doesnt hurt at all. I mean they have to stop your tongue from moving so they weigh your tongue down. it doesnt hurt at all! I had braces for 2 years and i spent a happy 2 years with them! the process could take up to an hour :)
