Tooth Filling/Sealant?!

Question: Tooth Filling/Sealant?
I went to the dentist today and he said Ive been brushing fine, which I have, twice a day. But he said he found a sealant has come off my tooth and he'll need to reseal it. I want to know:-

i) How it couldve come off
ii) How do I keep it really clean until I see him in 3 weeks
iii) Will it hurt to have it resealed.

i) How it couldve come off HE USED A COMPOSITE FILLING INSTEAD OF A SILVER AMALGUM FILLING WITH MERCURY
ii) How do I keep it really clean until I see him in 3 weeks CHEW ON THE OTHER SIDE,; RINSE AND BRUSH AFTER EVERY TIME YOU EAT
iii) Will it hurt to have it resealed. no. THERE WILL BE NO LIVE NERVE CONTACT.

They wear off gradually. Not it won't hurt. Do your regular brushing.
My question is: why didn't he just reseal it while you were in the chair? It takes all of 30secs to apply sealant to a tooth. Instead you have to return in 3 wks? Makes no sense.

No it doesn't hurt, they just paint it on, and it isn't meant to last forever either.

Had it done myself.
