How long does it take to get braces?!

Question: How long does it take to get braces?
I've always wanted braces and I finally might be getting them.

In late December I had a consultation where we went over the cost and the process of getting them. I could have gotten the molds done the same day, but we decided to wait. We made an appointment for January, but we kept getting pushed back until February.

Tomorrow is the appointment and I should be getting my molds done tomorrow.
Once that is complete, what else is left to do? When could I expect to finally get my braces on?

I'll be asking the orthodontist, but I just want a general time period when I can expect to get them on.

*The orthodontist hasn't mentioned I need spacers, but I'm unsure if I'll need them.

Answers:

I got braces like 3 years ago now, but I seem to remember after they took a mold of your teeth it wasn't long at all, maybe a week or a few days. Sorry if I'm wrong as it was ages ago but yeah something like that! :)

If you're just doing the molds tomorrow, I would assume that you have around 3 weeks left. It took them three weeks to process them for me and then to get them on, once they are on though, they prefer to extend the amount of time that you must keep them on, be aware 1 year does not always mean one year. So I would say 3 weeks to 1 month!

After your records are done - a consultation will explain the plan of alignment. Here, an appointment will be made to put on spacers, braces should follow within the week. I'd say 6 weeks after your record appointment.
