Why are my teeth so sensitive the day after a night of drinking alcohol?!

Question: Why are my teeth so sensitive the day after a night of drinking alcohol?
Answers:

Hello
alcohol dehydrates you and dehydration can cause sensitive teeth. Also alcohol is very acidic and drying to the mouth, teeth and gums. Very acidic foods and drinks can strip the enamel off your teeth causing them to be sensitive too. Never brush your teeth straight after drinking and eating such foods as they soften the enamel and you then brush the enamel off your teeth. Always leave at least 1 hour before brushing and rinse your mouth out with water beforehand which helps. Or you may have gum problems that alcohol makes worse.

Sensitive teeth is usually caused by:
1) A receding gum line, which exposes dentin. The dentin has tiny holes which transmit temperature to your nerves. Toothpastes like Sensodyne or stanis fluoride treatments help fill these holes. Don't let your gums recede because it is very hard to get them to come back. Keep your gums clean by flossing with dental tape every day.
2) Teeth with metallic fillings can be sensitive.
3) Teeth with fractures will be sensitive.
4) Teeth with decay can be sensitive

Hope that helps

Hi
Its because of the acid in the alchole makes your teeth more sensitive. Try forcing yourself to drink a pint of water before you go to bed trust me it helps and your find you won't wake up with a hangover either no matter how much you have drank and even better if you have any sense in your drunken state take a vit c tablet with your water alchole removes vit c from your body

FACT and personal experience

I find that after a night of drinking, absolutely everything is more sensitive.

-Your Teeth are trying to "Tell" You something... Care to guess the "Hint" ?! :o

Because its poison and the huge majority of your body won't like it, to be honest. Its just you feeling it in your teeth.

It wears away the enamel on your teeth
