Hello
it could be decay. They can range in color from black, brown to light grey. Not all marks are cavities though. I have stains on my teeth too which look like decay, but they are simply brown stains on the tops of my teeth( very small but I can see them). I also have small areas on my teeth( very small) which look abit grey, but are where the enamel is slightly thin. Just had a check up and everything is ok. I would not worry about your grey area too much. But if it starts hurting or changes in size or appearance, go and get it looked at. Or if you have a 6 month check up coming up, just show the dentist then.

Hope that helps

myself as I have had loads of work done

I think not all cavities are same in type, various types are there. So,the color depends upon that.Normally we have seen cavities like yellow, brown, reddish ,blackly brown in colors. But it depends totally on the decay of teeth.

You better consult a doctor.

Even though it doesn't hurt it's probably still a cavity

It depends. There are various types.

Get yourself to a dentist.
