What is it like to get braces?!

First they make a mold of your teeth, then the next appointment they put the braces on. The first step is putting on this sticky adhesive stuff so the brackets will stick to your teeth, they put on this coating that tastes really bad but it doesn't last too long. After all the brackets on, the put a metal wire through them, ( 1 for the top row and 1 for the bottom) then they cut the ends of the wire and you're done! they'll give you a packet it on how to care for the braces and what foods you should stay away from. It's not that bad, the first night they might hurt but you can just take Advil or Tylenol and you'll be fine(: good luck!

I have braces!

Dont be scary nothing about braces is scary. First they like brush your teeth then they put the glue on. Then the put the brackets on then the wire then the colored elastics then your done! Getting to pick the different colors is the best part. You go back once a month to get the wire tightened and the colors changed. Nothing is scary, but they will be sore at first. Take ibuprofen afterwards for the next few days.

Dont be scared. The worst part for me was when they made the mold of my mouth. It felt like I was swallowing something cold. Its not painful unless you chew hard candy or sticky candy like you arent supposed to. I popped mine out like that and it wasnt fun. If you chew Freedent gum it wont stick to them. If they get uncomfortable put dental wax on them from the store or the Orthodonist. Braces are attractive too. I got so much attention I didnt want to get rid of mine! Good luck!

It's not scary at all, so don't worry. Literally all you do is sit there with your mouth open. The braces themselves suck, but you learn to live with them. There is no pain or anything.
