Apple Cider Vinegar can be used as an effective mouthwash that provides long-lasting relief from bad breath. Simply dilute 1/2 tablespoon of the vinegar into a glass of water and gargle it in your mouth for 10 seconds at a time. More useful remedies at http://sites.google.com/site/dentalinfos…

Try brushing with common salt.

Or you could use sodium bicarbonate (baking soda, not baking powder) and hydrogen peroxide. Mix them together and brush. That's what the dentist recommended for me and it worked.

Edit - It would be a good idea to visit your dentist to rule out gingivitis or periodontitis which could signal more serious problem.

Tic Tacs.

Seriously though, there are tongue brushes you can buy and people say they work great.

Dunno. mine smells like crap.
