How am I meant to cope with the pain for so long?!

Question: How am I meant to cope with the pain for so long?
I have just been to the dentist and he said I need a root canal, a replacement filling and a new filling. I have to wait for a month to get it all done. I can barely eat and am worried the damage to my teeth will get worse in the month. Is this normal and what am I meant to do until then?

Answers:

Are you waiting until you have an abscess treated? Did the dentist prescribe antibiotics? If he did the pain will subside If not a month seems too long....seek a second opinion

don't you dare are you insane you'll end up ripping the tooth out yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!! go to an emergency dentist and they can immediately take out the filling and then the nerve and then put temporary filling in. so then you could wait a month. I know the pain I had a abscess last year that ended in loosing a tooth.
Get on the phone now because it will start to get wobbly and after excruciating pain it will be pulled. You'll also have to take about a week off work because it will hurt to breath and you wont be able to function will the really strong pain killers, oh and the swelling goes from your shoulder to the top of your head. If you have to be pushy be very pushy.

If he started the root canal, then it is normal to space out the appointments roughly a month apart. This is because they put medicine down the canals of the tooth to help dissolve the root. If you're in agony, call the clinic. Otherwise, avoid chewing on that tooth until it's complete.

if you are in a great deal of pain and cannot wait then the Dentist can remove the painful tooth. Waiting for another 4 weeks will do little damage to your teeth.
