For molar tooth removal, should I have local or general anesthetic?!

Question: For molar tooth removal, should I have local or general anesthetic?
Most of the articles I have read are for wisdon teeth so I am not 100% sure if they are relevant for me also so i thought I would ask here.

I am having 4 molar teeth out (1 top left, 1 top right, 1 bottom left, 1 bottom right) to make room in my jawline or something so that my teeth can be straightened. The big problem is that I am very hemophobic (fear of blood) but not only that but anything associated with blood in anyway, and it would be very likely that I would pass out lots of times during the removal of the teeth, I also don't like needles too much (as I associate it with blood again), with local I will have 4+ needles I think, whereas with general there is a maximum of one (unless its gas).

I am only 15 so do not need to worry about not being able to drive, sign documents etc after general

please offer your suggestions, 10 points best answer

in your situation i think that the general anastethic would be the better option. besides your age, i think that your fear of blood and needles would make it too stressful and if you do pass out, the procedure would be stopped and no more teeth taken out, so if you passed out while the first tooth was being removed, you would have to go back to have the second one removed and chances are that each tooth would be a separate and spaced out appointment.
my son has had 2 teeth removed under general and 1 under local which were both very good experiences for him and he has no fear of the dentist and even lets them drill small cavities without the slightest nervousness or even a local anastethic. my daughter on the other hand had one tooth out under local and it was a bad experience for her and she is terrified of the dentist.
in the end only you can decide, but if you are already so nervous i honestly think that getting knocked out for 15 minutes is the better option for you.

chances of dying is not 50%. in fact the rate during Maxillo Facial Surgery is very low and is usually caused by aspiration of stomach contents, ie. where the patient was told to fast for 12 hours before the procedure but had in fact eaten or drank something and then lied to the doctors at the pre-op interview. but yes, there is still a very small chance. they range from 1 in 6,795 to 1 in 200,200 anaesthetics. this is a risk you need to take into account.

I would def go with the stronger of the two. Anytime you have a tooth pulled it hurts but having 4 done really hurts I have had my molars pulled and it hurt just as bad as wisdom teeth. You are young too so you have nothing to worry about as far as driving. There are risks with any medication or sedation but they are really slim risks and this will make you be able to be more comfortable. Good luck!

i would say go for local anesthetic. i really don'tt think it will hurt, tell the assistant to put this gel thing called topical anesthetic that will really help alot for u cant feel the pinch of the shots...i really dont recommend for you to get put to sleep to have teeth removed because their is a 50% chance that ppl wont wake up anymore

id go for general, the waking up and getting your bearings can be a bit of a pain but id rather that than have to sit through having 4 teeth out!

afraid of the dentist and have been knocked out for dental work!

I had all 4 wisdom removed at one time, local only. Only a local is needed for this. You don't need a general. Over kill, and general costs a ton more money, as you need a doctor for it.

I would not have General Anaesthesia, but you could look into a deep conscious sedation, such as IV Valium. It does not sound like local anesthetic would be a comfortable choice for you psychologically.
