Hello
sounds like your tooth, teeth are crumbling, breaking up due to decay. You will probably need a filling or two to fix it. Do you brush 2 times a day and floss? Maybe your enamel is weak and you need to use a mouthwash that will harden it up again( Colgate Plax is what my dentist tells me to use as it strengthens tooth enamel and helps stop decay by up to 40%). Acidic foods and drinks can weaken your tooth enamel such as oranges, fizzy drinks and sweets and alcohol. Never brush straight after eating such foods as they soften your enamel and it then takes at least 1 hour for it to harden again. Try rinsing your mouth out with water to wash the acid away.

It does sound like your teeth are weak. Things like milk and yogurt and sprouts and cheese are good for teeth strength. Get a toothpaste that also stregthens your teeth. Cut down on smoking if you smoke. Eat healthy and avoid sugar and sweets and starchy foods that weaken teeth and cause decay.

My hubby had crumbling teeth at one stage but corrected his diet and dental care as above and his teeth are fine now.

Hope that helps

It doesnt have to be black to be a cavity, it could be rotting on the other side that you can't see you should give your local denist a call and get checked up on if it pain's you that much

as your dentist it sounds bad
