The appointment will take about a hour. Your braces will be removed, all the glue will be polished from your teeth, you may get final xrays, and you will get your impressions for your retainers.
At my office, this appointment takes about an hour or less depending how busy we are.

Orthodontic Assistant. I take braces off daily.
The impressions themselves do not take long at all. It's basically the same procedure that your orthodontist probably did to you before you got your braces, to get that plaster mold made. So I would guestimate maybe 5 minutes, 10 minutes max.

tip: wen they are holding the mold in ur mouth lift one of ur legs up it makes u stop gagging :)x
