how long does it take to get used to braces?!

Its normal if you feel sore/numb after the first few days of getting braces. When I had them it took me about a week to a week and a half to get used to them. Just a word to the wise to get rid of the soreness take some advil/tylenol and I don't know if you have this "gnawing sensation", try not to do it. Another note is that its going to feel sore every time you go to the orthodontist for a 6 week checkup for the braces because they tighten them up. It may hurt but in the end its worth it for a beautiful smile =)

Personal Experience

It takes about 1-2 weeks to get used to them but you really start to ignore them about a month after. They will be annoying and sore at first but after the first 2 weeks they won't hurt anymore. When you go to get them tightened they will hurt for a week but the pain usually isn't as bad as when you first get them.

Braces hurt and are annoying, but just do what your ortho tells you and you will get them off quicker and have a fantastic smile!

Have had braces for 6 months

took me 1.5~2 weeks but if you are strong or have more than one year then it will take about a week

at the worst a cuple weeks
