Question: Wisdom tooth problems?
My wisdom tooth is coming through and it's giving me nothing but hassel. I've had 3 infections and have been on 3 courses of antibiotics and painkillers since November! I can feel another infection coming, the gum around the tooth is rock solid and bright red and massively swollen, I think the infection has spread because my gland is also swollen on the same side as the wisdom tooth. I'm on a waiting list to get it pulled out, but god knows how long I'll be waiting, you know what these waiting lists are like now a days!! I'm sick of antibiotics because they always give me thrush, I have my pain management sorted (tylex), although my dentist and doctor don't know about that! ;) what would happen if I let the infection run its course? would it go away by itself? could it do me any harm? any other advice for wisdom teeth - much appreciated xxx

Ahhh a waiting list. Can you seek emergency treatment with another doctor? No one wants to be in pain. Find another doctor or call your insurance company to speed up the process. Also you can try dental clinics or dental schools.
I am going through the same problem. I have an infection, Fever & ear ache from it. Tomorrow I am going to the emergancy center of the hospital to get it removed. you should too! the pain is the worst, tell me how it turns out!
