Can I brush my teeth too much?!

Question: Can I brush my teeth too much?
Lately I've realized I brush my teeth after eating pretty much everything...Like 5-8 times a day. I use a soft bristle brushn but can I wear out my gums or can toothpaste degrade enamel or whatnot?
Much appreciated

Answers:

It can start to wear away enamel and destroy your teeth. Is it an OCD type of issue? You may want to look into that as well...

I'm pretty sure you'e over doing it. Brushing twice a day should be enough for you not to have cavities and such. Brushing this many times could break away the enamel after a while. If you do insist on brushing this many times in a day I suggest you go get pronamel toothpaste, to help protect against erosion.

Yes, you'll wear out your enamel. Your teeth will probably start getting sensitive
