You are not allowed to have any piercings in during the surgery. When I had my wisdom teeth removed I had to take out my tongue ring.

There could be problems in your extraction procedure. And you wont be under IV sedation if they ha vent told you that specifically. Most extractions are done under local anesthesia. Your piercing could be a hindrance to approach and there is always chances of it getting lose and you aspirating on it.. You would wanna take it off for a day or two.
I sure wouldn't.
You want them to be able to do their job without screwing you up.
What is the motivation to keep them in?
BTW, there is no "pulling" to it, it's surgery... they cut the teeth out.
