what happens on the first appointment for braces and how long does it take?!

Question: What happens on the first appointment for braces and how long does it take?
I'm going for my first appointment for my braces in 2 weeks and i would like to no what happens and how long does it take.

Answers:

The first time I went in, they just looked inside my mouth at the teeth to see what was going on. Then they took pictures with a regular camera (profile and smile) and then I had an x-ray (you bite on the thing and it spins around your head; super easy). They may ask for an impression of your teeth. I never had anything put in my mouth until the actual braces so it does depend on you. The overall looking of teeth took 15 minutes but the orthodontist went over options and payment plans so the entire appointment was maybe 45 minutes. I got my braces on three weeks later.

Experience.

I have braces. The first appointment will be when they insert spacers. Spacers are little round circles that are inserted between your molars to create more space for your braces. It should take 15 minutes, most likely less. Take medicine before, as the spacers will create soreness.

15-20 minutes
