Question: If you have an overcrowded mouth and the Orthodontist doesn't give you spacers, will it hurt worse or not?
I am getting braces the day after my birthday and my mouth is overcrowded, so I was wondering if it would hurt worse or not. I don't know!!! So nervous!

You only need spacers if the ortho needs to put on molar bands. If you didn't' get spacers then you won't be getting molar bands, just brackets on all your teeth. It hurts no matter what, the spacers would not make it any less painful. I've heard spacers are very painful, so be happy you didn't' get any. Don't worry, braces pain goes away after a while and you'll even forget sometimes that you have them.
Braces for 12 months now.
