Question: Does the braces lip retractor hurt?
So im getting braces next week and was wondering how much they hurt? I also have a few other questions.
1. Do all dentists use lip/cheek retractors?
2. While the lip retractor is in your mouth how are you supposed to breathe or swallow?
3. How long does the procedure take?
basically im just really worried about the lip/cheek retractor and how im supposed to breathe
I have a fairly high pain tolerance tho.

Answers:
There is no pain involved in having the brackets placed. The lip retractor just holds the lips back so the brackets can be placed and the glue dried, it does NOT in any way block your airway.
