whats better extraction or root canal?!

Question: Whats better extraction or root canal?
I had part of my filling fall out of my tooth and they wanted to refill but said it was deep so they put a temp filling in there and it hurts right now the numbing meds are starting to wear off. Should I get a root canal or just have them pull it its in the bottom left middle tooth?

Answers:

root canal treatment is painful but worth it, having an extraction means some foods you cant eat, if you dont like the dentist ask to be enithsetised during the procedeure you wont feel a thing but it may hurt for a few days ibuferen will help but dont get an extraction.

If you can afford it, the root canal is the best. It is better to keep your own teeth as long as possible for many reasons. The most important is that teeth shift when one is missing, and you will begin to have gaps or other movement of your teeth next to this space. You will also have loss of bone under that spot. Your own tooth will allow you to continue to chew foods and eat just as before. All the way around, better to keep it. Most people make the choice for extraction based on costs. That's a consideration too, if you can't afford it -- you can't afford it.

Although expensive always opt for the root canal. I have a tooth that was pulled when I couldn't afford a root canal. It is in the back where it can't be seen, but I now wish that I had saved it. If you have a tooth pulled you will get used to it, but you will soon realize that if you keep doing that option you will sooner or later run out of teeth. When teeth are missing you tend to chew on only one side, greatly increasing the wear on that side.
Of course, cost is a factor. Root canals are expensive compared to an extraction, but worth it in the long run.

I have to say a root canal is horrible. an extraction is way faster and easier . your tooth is comeing out anyway so i would say get a extraction .:-) hope i could help/.
