Answers:

Hello
I floss once a day just before going to bed. I floss first and then brush after. I got a piece of dental floss stuck in between my teeth about 2 months ago and it broke off and I could not get it out. I had to go to my dentist to get it removed. The floss I was using shredded and broke. My dentist suggested using a floss called Crest Glide floss that does not break or shred. I use it every day now and get along with ok great. It never snaps and is easy to use and I actually am not frightened using it. I have wisdom teeth that are very far back into the gums and I can manage to floss them fine with the Crest floss as it is easier to use that normal floss.

Flossing once a day is enough and flossing removes plaque and bits of food from your teeth and helps keep your gums and teeth healthy. If you do not floss the plaque can build up and it then goes hard and forms tartar, which can damage your teeth and gums. Plaque and trapped food can also cause tooth decay. If your gums get damaged by plaque and tartar build up this can effect your teeth and nerves and cause all kinds of problems. If you use just a tooth brush and do not floss, the brush cannot clean right into the gaps in between the teeth. When I floss I always get bits of food out.

My dentist says to me only floss the teeth you wish to keep. So brush 2 times a day and floss once a day and eat a tooth kind diet and you teeth and gums will stay healthy. Use non break , non shredding floss like me and flossing becomes easy.

Avoid fizzy drinks and sugar as these things weaken enamel and cause tooth decay. For instance if you go and eat breakfast and have fruit juice etc and then go and brush your teeth, the acidic fruit juice has softened the enamel on your teeth. You then brush your teeth and slowly you will wear away your enamel . I always brush before breakfast or leave it least an hour after eating before I brush. I also rinse my mouth out with water which helps get rid of the acidic effects.

Alittle sugar is ok in your diet, but only have it with your meals. Do not snack all day on it as your teeth will never get the time to fight the continous onslaught.

You can also get lot's of different tools that help with flossing.
Crest Glide Floss Picks for hard to reach areas
Dental Flosser Stick which is a small stick with a piece of floss on the end, hubby uses these
My dental nurse cannot get on with floss so uses tiny floss brushes that clean in between the teeth.

CORRECT FLOSSING

Use a section of floss between 18 24 inches long. Wind most of the floss around one of the middle fingers.
Wrap the remaining floss around the same finger on the opposite hand. This will be the take up as the floss is used.

You will need about an inch of floss between the fingers while tightly holding the floss in either hand.
With the floss at the gumline, curve the floss into a C around a tooth, then gently slide the floss into the space between the gum and tooth.

Holding the floss tight against the tooth, gently move the floss side to side along the tooth moving the floss away from the gums.

Repeat the process for each tooth.
Hope that helps you

Happy flossing

myself as I floss every day

Ok so,
Its hard ot floss near your wisdoms because its the main reason why people have theirs out because its hard to floss and brush

You should floss twice a day, once in the morning and once at night

The benefit is it stops plaque getting in there which causes cavities and peridontal diseases, you need to go in deep where the toothbrush cant go

well flossing is pretty fair way of maintaining hygiene teeth..
n i think flossing twice a day will be fine ..else ask ur dentist once
