what can i do at night when clinics are closed for a BAD gum ache?!

Question: What can i do at night when clinics are closed for a BAD gum ache?
hurts so bad i'm almost in tears.. throbbing pain all over my left side of my mouth upper gum line just out of the danmed blue at night BAM THROB THROB and the oddest part is it doesn't seem to be an abscess but inflamed tissue. and a strong pulse in my gums. even more fked up is I haven't had a single gum problem in MONTHS then I brushed my teeth and its like it let bacteria bounce back and haunt me.\. so far I know of a pin hole where I got a dead tooth removed that never truly healed up maybe I unplugged its hole by brushing and let bacteria in? just wondering wtf and how brushing can CAUSE pain and no not immediately after brushing but many hours after. it seems to be spreading too....not sure

Before I answer your question I just want to state that I am a Dental Technologist not a Dentist. Dental Technologists only make dental prosthesis with a prescription from a Dentist and we do not give out medical advice. Thus, any comments I make are just personal thoughts and should not be taken as medical advice. So GO TO YOUR DENTIST!!!!!

Now to answer your question, there is not much you can do until you see you dentist. Only thing i can suggest for now, is take an advil for the pain and try rinsing with salt water. Call your dentist's office in the morning and ask them.

Hope this helped =)

I am a Dental Technologist

Sounds like a toothache; you can go to the ER, and ask for some antibiotics and pain killers until you can contact a dentist. Oh yeah, it's a serious infection , is spreading, and can become life threatening.
