Question: Husband doesnt brush his teeth, what should i do?
Recently I've noticed my husbands breath has been smelling pretty bad! And what's also embarrassing is friends of ours are noticing too. and of course we know that your significant other is a reflection of you. Well besides all that I've tried everthiing to help him. I've tried reminding him talking with him about it and he just doesn't seem to care in fact he straight up told me he kept forgetting and now he just doesnt care anymore! Wich mind you is brutal for me cuz its disgusting when he tries to kiss me! :( btw he does not see a dentist because we can't afford insurance.:( any advice plz? And please if you're gonna be rude just don't bother thanks

Hello
tell your husband that not brushing his teeth can cause all kinds of problems. First one being tooth decay and pain and expensive bills to put things right. Tooth decay can lead to serious infections and even death. Poor oral health can cause low self esteem and effect your appearance and make you look older than you are. It can cause sleeping problems. Cavities and gum disease may contribute to many serious conditions, such as diabetes and respiratory diseases and even heart disease. Tooth ache can make you really depressed too. I know. Not brushing can also effect your enjoyment of food as you cannot taste food as well with tooth decay and you cannot chew the food well with painful bad teeth. It can also effect your digestive system if you do not chew food properly.

And if he smokes and does not brush, he could end up getting mouth cancer.

Reasons why he should brush

To prevent gum disease and tooth loss
To prevent bad breath
To prevent painful cavities and infections that can kill
To prevent looking older as having bad teeth ages you
To enjoy food more and have a healthy digestion
To save money when going to the dentists
To have pride in yourself
To be healthy all round
To extend his life as people who floss can live about 6 years longer
To prevent death from bad infections
To be able to kiss without making people gag

These reasons must be good enough reason for your hubby to start brushing and flossing again. Tell him the above. Brush 2 times a day and floss once a day and be healthy. Does not take long.. Show him this post.

Good luck and hope he starts brushing again asap.

take care

He is not a reflection of you, so get over that stupid idea. Since it bothers you, stick to that reason. If you try to turn it around and make it about YOUR embarrassment, you are going to only force him to avoid the results you really want ... getting him to have better personal hygiene. Make it about HIM and what is good for HIM.

Wow. Something like this has happened to me wit my dude. He had a bad tooth and that's why his breath reeked. Try what I did. Deny him ALL physical affection til he does something about his hygiene. U shouldn't have to compromise on some things and bad hygiene is one of them.

Tell him he's embarrassing, that he smells revolting and that you won't respect him if he can't be bothered to respect himself. Tell him you'll move into a spare room if he doesn't clean himself up.
