What should I expect when I go to get my wisdom teeth out?!

Question: What should I expect when I go to get my wisdom teeth out?
In a little over a week, I'm going to get a surgery to get my wisdom teeth out. I've had a surgery before, but it was a long time ago and I don't really remember what it was like. I have no idea what the surgery will be like, or what it will be like after I get them out. Any tips/advice? Thanks!

Uhm I just so happened to be one of the apparent unfortunates that got to be awake for this traumatic experience? They dig...and dig...inside your mouth until they need to drill and then they wrap this metal tool around your tooth and yank it out. They do that about.....3-4 times depending on how many mature wisdom teeth you have. (I had three removed because the fourth was too far inside to be extracted.) I just hope you are asleep for all this it seems to be the choice of many with good health insurance. Best of luck. Oh and don't plan on eating afterwards....eat before, brush ur teeth before you go in....you're going to have stitches and gauze packed in your mouth so be careful.

I was knocked out when they did mine. I was put in a chair, IV in my arm.. Thermometer on my head. Did my basic stats.. And put me to sleep. The whole surgery took about 30-45 mins. I was wheeled into the recovery room where I fell asleep for 30 mins. My dad drove me home.. Feel asleep some more. Went on a 3 day field trip the next day.
