Excess filling down the side of my tooth?!

Question: Excess filling down the side of my tooth?
i got a filling a few weeks ago. there seems to be excess filling in between my two teeth but at the front from where she pulled the floss down...how do i remove it...my gum is starting to look raw from it...no pain YET...but it is uncomfortable...is there any way i can remove it myself or do I need to see my dentist again?

Answers:

Sounds like you might need to take a trip back to your dentist. Since it's been such a long time since you received your filling, the excess residue will have solidifed by now- those little guys get very strong (too strong for even the toughest floss), so your dentist might have to find another means to get it out (what they choose to do will really depend on how much residue is there, and how well the excess material is bonded to the tooth).

Keep Smiling :)
