Wisdom tooth problems? (headache, split gum, etc)?!

Question: Wisdom tooth problems? (headache, split gum, etc)?
One of my wisdom teeth (bottom right) has been trying to come in for a couple years..
It never really caused a problem before.. the gum would be sore for a couple days, then stop. Only got sore every couple months..

Well the past few days it's been causing constant headaches that come back the second the tylenol I take wears off...and when I looked at the gum (it was quite sore) it looked almost like a cold sore was on it, but deeper than any cold sore I've ever seen (not sure if cold sore is the right terminology? Not the herpes virus sores, but the ones from things like acidic foods) I can only assume the gum is starting to split.. At first, I figured a popcorn kernel or something got stuck, so I scratched at it a bit, but felt nothing and it started to bleed a very small amount.
I'm almost positive that it can't go through in that spot.. There's no room (there is room, I believe, for the other teeth.. they just haven't tried to come in..)
I can't get it removed any time soon... I'm breastfeeding my daughter (she is almost one, but I have decided to let her self-wean) and don't want to be on medications like that.. Plus she'd end up hitting my mouth somehow, as she does on a daily basis, and cause horrible pain.
It hasn't moved any of my other teeth and doesn't bother me much until now..
It's never split the gum before, though.
Should I be concerned, or let it be in hopes it goes back down?
Is the tooth right there, and that is why the gum is splitting? Is it even a split? It's sort of a circle shape..
Since none of the others have tried to come in, or caused any pain, what's the chance I only have one?
I believe my mom had 2 or 3..
How long can I safely avoid wisdom tooth removal before it ruins my other teeth? I'd like to continue to nurse my daughter, and have no intentions of stopping anytime soon (she has no desire to wean, and I have no desire to wean her)
Should I just take tylenol until it goes back down? The headaches are tolerable, but a bit annoying..as is the pain from the gum.
Sorry for all the questions! 10 points to best answer!

Sounds like peroconronitis. That's when there is swollen tissue near the wisdom tooth. You can sooth it with salt water and antibiotics. After a week it should be healed. But it could come back so I recommend getting your wisdom tooth removed as soon as your able to. I remember my dentist checked for swelling in my gum to see if my wisdom teeth had to be removed asap. They say as soon as wisdom teeth begin to cause any kind of problem or pain, get them removed.

I thought I had only two wisdom teeth on the bottom because they were the only ones I could see. Turns out I had all four ): So it's possible you have more than one under the gum.
