Hey sweetie. congratulations on getting your braces off! When they take off your braces, they cut the wires and take them out. Then they put some glue remover on the brackets and they'll take those off and then clean your teeth really well. That was the worst part for me cause the glue might have gone under your gums so they might have to get up under there. But it's no where near as bad as getting them put on so don't worry. if anything hurts, just remember to breath through your nose. and then what my orthodontist did was whiten my teeth and, if i remember correctly, got a mold of my mouth for my retainer (top and bottom). the bottom is just a small wire thing that they glue on behind your bottom front teeth. then they'll schedule a day for you to pick up your top retainer and make sure it fits and everything. Now this was just my experience, but every orthodontist is different so yours might do it a little differently. but don't worry, its not too painful. But just think, you'll now have a beautiful new smile. it'll be worth any pain.
