I have extreme gum pain on my lower left jaw behind my last tooth?!

Question: I have extreme gum pain on my lower left jaw behind my last tooth?
My gums have become extremely sore recently right behind my back teeth on the bottom left jaw. It hurts to close my mouth, talk, eat, or even swallow. It is making the left side of my face sore. It is also causing what seems to be pain in my ear. The pain seems to be spreading through the gums but it hasn't gotten too far. I do not think it is a wisdom tooth. I have had braces for a month if that helps. I am a 14 year old girl who is in extreme pain. I've had this kind of pain before, but it wasn't nearly this severe and it went away in a few days. after I continually swished my mouth with mouthwash. Frankly, mouthwash doesn't seem to be doing it this time. Please help me! :(

It really does sound like your wisdom teeth are coming it. But it could be a combination of a few things! New braces, the wisdom tooth starting to poke through your gums, or even your wisdom tooth pushing up against your molars! I would probably see a dentist about it just to be safe though. Or at least ask your orthodontist next time you have an appointment. Best of luck!

it probably is your wisdom teeth. Make an appt with your dentist. They will probably want to take an x-ray to confirm. Until then, try taking some aspirin to help with the pain.
